Professor Messer Security+ Video Training

Professor Messer has quite a following and diservadly so. A lot of people have passed the certification exam by just watching his videos. The videos are high quality and you can tell he uses a high quality microphone. For a small fee you can download the videos for offline viewing. There are also pdf notes available. A lot of the Security+ training out there is still the older SYO-301 but this is the updated SYO-401 course. So, make sure any materials you use are current.

Cybrary.it Security+ Video Training

The Security+ video training provided by Cybrary.it is not as high quality as Professor Messer’s training but you will get the same material. You will get 15 CEU/CPE credits for taking the course. So, if you need the credits to renew one or more of you certifications I would go this route.

Infosec Institute Security+ Training

Yea, I know, they charge for their courses but they have a free mini-course that you can take that is actually worth watching. Instead of teaching theory of security it covers the type of questions you will find on the test and how to tackle them. If you are planning on taking the test I highly recommend watching these videos.

Exam Compass

If you have been studying for the test and want to see if you are ready then you can take some practice tests at this site. The tests don’t have a lot of questions but there are several tests and it gives you a chance to take a practice test when you don’t have a lot of time available.
